residue of biological origin, as well as a renewable energy source, which often remains unexploited. Biomass can be exploited as a solid, liquid or gaseous fuel, reducing the energy costs of agricultural investments. The aim of the approved research project is the development of a cogeneration system (production of electricity and thermal energy for exploitation), based on the thermodynamic Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and used fuel the residual greenhouse biomass. The properly controlled combustion of biomass will take place at 130<sup>o<\/sup>C, while the condensing temperature of the ORC cycle will be about 50 <sup>\u03bf<\/sup>C, given as thermal power to the greenhouse. According to the European Refrigerant Regulation, also known as the F-gas Regulation, the use of organic fluids with high Global Warming Potential (GWP) has begun to be limited in order to reinforce the use of environmentally friendly fluids. In addition, all fluids should have zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP).
